Uuki's telescopes

Here are two of Uuki's telescopes. The 63 mm Maksutov reflector has a focal length of 500 mm, it is made in the USSR (Yep, from the age when the Soviet Union still existed) and is actually a camera telephoto lens. With an eyepiece adaptor it makes a nice, compact, and very portable telescope.

And the 205 mm f/6 Dobsonian. Nothing special, just your average home-made Dob. I didn't grind the mirror myself, I sort of cheated, and bought it. With a length of 130 cm and weighing 16 kg (plus base!) it is certainly not easily portable! (Next time I'll have to consider the weight more carefully!)

Update: This scope no longer exists, it has become something special!

(The third telescope is a commercial 114 mm f/8 Newtonian on a flimsy equatorial mount. I haven't a photo of it (at least in digital form), but I'll tell you what it looks like. It's, umm, well, it's colored red. Yeah.)

Update: I sold it. Good riddance. But I've got a 150 mm Maksutov in its place, hold on while I go take a picture of it!
