This is my portfolio of Studio 4, a course in the program of Information Networks in Helsinki University of Technology (Aalto). The course objectives are to learn the basics of programmable computer graphics, and to apply these graphics in a creative way. In addition to graphics, audio, video, interactive devices and virtual worlds are also used. The best about this course, apart from teaching a lot of useful techniques, is, that we were encouraged to be as creative as possible, there were no other limits than time.

In the beginning this might also have made things a bit complicated as we got too excited and started to plan things too complicated to be realized in the little time we had. Soon we noticed that it was better to start with something siple that actually worked, and then little by little add things.

As a group we worked well, even if all of us were quite busy with work or millions of other courses. Somehow we managed to finish all the projects in time and actually had a lot of fun at the same time!

During the spring 2011, this course has taught me how to

- encode the drawing of a picture

- program a time-dependent event

- make a graphical user-interface

- do programming in a group

- use geometrics, visualization, creative thinking in programming

- show ideas in mathematical ways

- program different interaction techniques

- program 3d-models
