I am a researcher at the Helsinki University of Technology, TKK, which will merge with two other universities and become the Aalto University in the beginning of 2010.
I've worked with home automation and home robotics, but the latest project included building an autonomous vehicle. It was full-size four-wheel-drive car with some extra stuff such as actuators, sensors and computers built in it. Bit like what has been seen in the Grand Challenge and ELROB events More about my work on my work page.
My most important hobby is gliding. Also called purjelento, soaring, vol à voile, Segelflug, ... I started the basic course in 1990, when I was just 14 years old. The limit was 15, but I got a special permission to start the course anyway. I had my 15th birthday just before soloing. Since then, I've been flying gliders more or less actively. First I joined Espoon ilmailukerho and later, when I was accepted to TKK, I also joined Polyteknikkojen ilmailukerho, PIK. Yes, the latter is also the origin for the PIK-aircraft. Currently I have an instructor and cloud flying ratings and I'm learning glider aerobatics. I fly from Räyskälä.
My link page, which I also use as my starting page. It might tell something about me too.
