  TyrskyKitarat
is a four men band playing instrumental (surf, neo-surf, rock&roll etc.)
music and recording homemade instrumental tunes. TyrskyKitarat is an experienced combo and the members are
Tero Eerikäinen (guitar), Timo Mäntypuro (drums), Petteri Pyhähuhta (bass)
and Pekka Reinikainen (guitar). We all have played many years together also
in different combos. TyrskyKitarat originates partly from Mau-Mau (a winner
of a national rock band contest from 1988) and Joint Ventures (our first
instrumental rock combo). The birth of this combo is
follows: Pekka worked at the same university with Tero and they used to make
home recordings together (and have fun and beer same time), and after a
couple of years noticed that some of compositions could be published, so a
humble name Uudet TyrskyKitaraKlassikot (New TyrskyKitara Classics) was given
to first EP-CD (1996). For these tunes, Pekka programmed drum machine (!!!!),
played guitar and Tero played   bass
lines and guitars, Petri Peltola (who also worked at the university) has been
playing percussions in some tunes. TyrskyKitarat band emerged just after the
first publication. TyrskyKitarat is most impressed of bands like Jon &
the Nightriders, Dick Dale, Link Wray, Ventures, Surf Raiders, Sounds, but
also noticed that a lot of new bands are publishing great music in this great
genre. New CD took 10 tears to mature, partly because Mau-Mau has been more
active and recently Petteri was forming a successful Jani & Jetsetters. So, here were are
again, 10 original new tunes after 10 years, hope you enjoy, too!
