Editor's note: The "I" below refers to Tuomo Lukkari, the tournament organizer.
The Finnish ASL Tournament was played last weekend at the Parola armor Museum near Hämeenlinna, Finland. 12 players showed up in total, 7 being Finnish, and 5 Swedish players. If the trend on Finn/Swede ratio continues develop like this (last year was 9/5), we'll have to move the tournament to Stockholm, so next year I'd like to see more Finns there! ;-)
Boxcar trophy wet to Melvin Falk at 17 and the snake-eyes tied by Claes-Erik Rydberg and Melvin Falk at 14.
Some of the Nordic players might be surprised that Melvin Falk appears so low on the standings. My only explanation is that giving Mr. Jack Daniels too much space in your gaming advisory board does not help. ;-)
The Top Three: Tuomo Lukkari (left), German 75L ATG, Lars Thuring, Claes-Erik Rydberg.
Pasi Heijala (right) reports one of those damn fine ASL moments to Melvin Falk. (Your Lucky Editor had just malf'ed his 17pdr ATG on its first shot and subsequently repaired it for good...)
ASL is an endurance sport.
The Final Round: Lars (left) and Tuomo strive for Fortuna's arms...
...while across the room the glorious honour of being the first finn to finish last in Sissukoni is hotly contested by Harri Sappinen (left) and Petri Vuorela.
