Populace

The populace is composed mainly of Scandinavian people, which gives the most distinctive features to the Republic, but more flavor is given by the minorities which are slowly becoming an accepted part of the Republic. Notable minorities are the Kuritan and Irish people, also on Tukayyid and Al Hillah.there are some Islamic people. Also people of German origin, from Steiner.


Populace: Scandinavian

From the early times when mankind when we were confined only to one planet, Scandinavians were somewhat grim and determined folk. Indeed other people tend to view them secluded and perhaps shy people, but when among their own folk and friends they are loud and full of laughter and good stories. They are known for their taste for spirits and they most certainly can drink other people under the table anytime (The only possible exception could be the residents of Skye)

Rasalhagians are usually a calm and stable folk, but when something sets them off they aren't held by any limits, they simply won't be held back. In battle preferring death to surrender, they won't lay down and die in a situation where a normal man breaks. A traitor is among their ranks is likely to get a cold and hostile treatment, as once their loayalty is given it is solid as a rock, an honestly given word is rarely, if ever broken. Thus betraying ones own people would be unheard of, maybe thought about but never actually done.

Generally Rasalhagians tend to shun outsiders, they are a folk that are not easy to make friends with, but when they do, they make friends for life. They form a sort of an in-group to which an outsider will find hard to understand and even harder to get into.

In Rasalhague lives also a large minority of orientals, and up until recent days they were shunned and even open hostility was displayed by original Scandinavians. This was because of the fears and bad feelings left by the Ronin wars and the inborn xenophobia (Though not as bad as in Kurita) . Because of the efforts of the Elected Prince and other high officials the racism towards other nationalities present in Rasalhague, this has lessened significantly.


Populace: Oriental

Majority of Oriental people in Rasalhague originate from Draconis Combine Generally the Kuritan people who live in Rasalhague tend to have a more open view of the world around them, opposite to the standard Kuritan, who suffer from a deep and limiting xenophobia. Usually they are either people who chose to stay in FRR after we gained our independence and wanted to stay here and help, or they were already deeply rooted here. It is more than likely that majority of Oriental people will eventually cease being 'Kuritan' and simply be Rasalhagian. Though ofcourse there are minorities which strongly uphold their traditions, dispite the dislike of their neighbours, countrymen.


Populace: Islamic

As Islamic have many sects they aren't that organized. The freedom of religion in Rasalhague has even prompted some to move here. They are tolerated and accepted if their existance does not harm the Republic in any way. Majority of the Islamic people is formed of the Azami, who settled some of Rasalhagian planets even in the days when Principality was formed. These days the Azami live on Tukayyid and Al Hillah.


Populace: Irish

Irish people are a close kindred to Rasalhagians. Always have Irish been held very close to Scandinavians, and still it remains so.. Irish have something of the northener blood in them, making them a bit like us in spirit. Skye people are a close kine to us.
