My main research interests are the security and usability of mobile early warning - disaster pre-information and other emergency related messages that are delivered via personal mobile devices (e.g. mobile phones). I also care deeply about the quality of adult and higher education, and am especially interested in how learning groups can help all members to develop their research skills. Over the years I have helped fellow researchers (both practitioners, faculty and students) in several security-related projects, which also shows on this list.

This page was started on January 26, 2004. But why so late in my life? (I turned 40 in May 2004) To make a really long story short: I had often dreamt of doing research in some area (the area admittedly varied according to where I was and what I was doing). However, I found realistic possibilities for seriously participating in scientific/scholarly research only after both my children had been born and I got back to academia - part time since July 2002 and full time since June 2003.
