Short Biography
Thomas
Keil is professor of strategic management at Aalto University. Previously
he taught at the Schulich School of Business, York
University in Toronto, Canada (2002-2006) and at Helsinki University of
Technology (1996-2001). Thomas holds DSc (Tech) and Lic. Tech degrees from
Helsinki University of Technology and a MSc degree (Dipl.Wirsch.-Ing.) from
Darmstadt University of Technology.
Thomas’
research focuses on corporate entrepreneurship, mergers and
acquisitions, strategic alliances, and more generally strategic management in
high-technology industries. Thomas’ work has been published or is
forthcoming in leading European and North-American journals including Harvard
Business Review, Sloan Management Review, Strategic Management Journal,
Organization Science, Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Journal of
Management, Journal of Management Studies, European Management Review and
has won several international awards.
Thomas has
taught extensively in undergraduate and graduate programs, customized executive
education, MBA and Executive MBA programs in Europe and North America. He is an
active advisor for small and large corporations across a wide range of
industries. Prior clients include Deutsche Telekom, Finnish Consulting Group,
Nokia, Partek, Sonera, and The Loyalty Group and The Royal Bank of Canada.
Outside work,
Thomas enjoys time with his Italian wife, their five children, and their dogs.
